Summary

I like to solve the tough problems—and I have experience tackling them in a wide variety of subjects. I've analyzed shockwaves in jet engine compressor CFD datasets, built time saving applications in C# for CATIA, led design for rear closures on the 2020 Ford Explorer, served as the on-site design resource for the 2020 Ford F150 vehicle launch, and prototyped designs through 3D printing. I can leverage CATIA, 3DEXPERIENCE, NX, and TeamCenter to bring designs to life. I’m insatiably curious which fuels my creativity and I relish dinner table conversations that center around thermodynamics or structural mechanics. (I’ve even been known to draw a stress diagram or two to explain an idea to a family member.)

Work History

Global Design Process and Automation Engineer

Ford Motor Company
05.2016 - Current
  • Served as a core technical team member on the global transition to 3DEXPERIENCE, replacing Teamcenter and CATIA V5 with a significant role in process development and deployment, enabling the shift to an object-based CAD-PLM design environment.
  • Informed global Ford design strategy through in-depth research and comparison of industry leading design environment solutions to determine the best option for a digital thread global design process
  • Led team of designers for 2024 Ford Explorer liftgate sheetmetal through design and release
  • Supported launch of 2020 F-150 at the Rouge Assembly Plant as the only on-site CAD support engineer. Required innovative and real-time problem resolution to an array of challenges discovered while building vehicles.
  • Developed stand-alone applications using C# to automate CAD geometry creation/modification, check geometry against engineering design-rules, perform complex engineering calculations, and improve user experience with existing design software
  • Supported Engineering and design of plastic and sheet metal components for instrument panel and rear closure automotive sub-systems on a variety of vehicle programs
