Ronald Davis

I began my time at Hoover & Strong in 2017 as a Casting Operator with zero subject knowledge. I am now the Casting Bay Lead, and Assistant Departmental Lead. Through careful time management and independent study, I have become my company's authority on my department's processes. My responsibilities and accomplishments include:

• Project design, development, and management.
• QC/QA of my cell's daily production, and supervision of any needed process improvements.
• Employee training and oversight, as well as precious resource management and allocation.
• Laboratory maintenance and upkeep, keeping track of and placing supply orders, writing standard operating procedures (SOP's), and communication of best practices among team members.
• Received a Golden Achievement Award (2017) and three Diamond Awards (2018, 2019, 2020).

• Received and delegated all incoming calls to the college switchboard
• Connected callers with appropriate professional, department or business.
• Managed police calls and dispatched officers via radio when necessary.

• The Hampden-Sydney Chemistry Department offers a summer internship program in which accepted applicants can design and conduct novel chemical research projects under the supervision of a professor.
• My project was focused on synthesizing and characterizing new metal complexes for use as catalysts in pharmaceutical research.
• Gathered, arranged and corrected research data to create representative graphs and charts highlighting results for presentations.
