I was nominated for Employee of the Month in 2018 for going over and beyond for a patient that was scheduled to have a bariatric procedure and during that time the hospital was transitioning to a new system and I was a super user we were having to work long hours to make sure that all the patients that were being admitted were crossed over with the correct date and time of admissions and were having to make sure that the nurses had what they needed on the floors. It was a very busy time and we would run into allot of problems so I was having to help with that on top of making sure that my patients were getting the financial counseling they needed in order to have there procedure done. This specific patient I was having to go back and forth with the doctors office and the insurance company regarding her authorization in most cases you have to have a medical necessity in order for the insurance to approve the procedure and I was finally able to get the approval from the insurance and the patient was able to get her procedure done.
