Proven leader with extensive experience in industrial operations, throughout my 16 years in the wallboard industry. Wallboard manufacturing is where I honed much of my problem-solving and team collaboration skills. I excelled in optimizing production processes, achieving significant process improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety compliance. Demonstrated adaptability by successfully managing diverse roles across multiple industries, leading to enhanced operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
As Board Plant Relief, I am qualified on several jobs throughout the board plant. I am familiar with and operate all jobs as needed on A-Line Dry End, Wet End, and the Knife. To add to that, outside of the requirements, I help out on B-line Wet End, Knife, and Dry End. I also assist in the training and development of new operators in several areas of the plant.
Day to day tasks for me might include running one piece of equipment for the duration of the day or possibly multiple jobs to fill in for breaks. If all jobs are filled I look to see what things need to be done. This could be sorting board, helping with dry additives, or cleaning where the biggest need is.
During this time at Georgia Pacific I spent approximately one year at the Paint Line. I did all five jobs before going back to the board line as the Wet End Lead.
On a daily basis as the Wed End Lead I made sure that the board that I was producing was all in spec by taking samples, running tests, and analyzing data from the knife and dry end. I was responsible for checking all of my equipment upon arrival, checking samples from the previous shift, and communicating with the other operators to pass on knowledge of on-goings at that time.
I also was shift supervisor, (foreman), from time to time, when needed.
I was very fluent on every job in the board plant. I always tried to get better and make the best quality wallboard as efficiently and safely as possible. If I could save us time or money without sacrificing safety or quality I did it and taught others how to do it.
When I did the job as shift supervisor I oversaw the daily operations of the boardline and reported the on-goings and production numbers to my supervisors. I created and approved work orders. I worked with maintenance and my boardline team to get the best 12 hours of safe and quality production out of each day.
During these 5 years at Georgia Pacific I worked one year at the dry end and helping out while learning in every area that I was able to. My second year I went to the Wet End to learn where it all begins. I started out on the Mixer and quickly learned the Material handling jobs and Machine. I then took the Wet End Lead job the next year, making sure that the board that I was producing was all in spec by taking samples, running tests, and analyzing data from the knife and dry end. I was responsible for checking all of my equipment upon arrival, checking samples from the previous shift, and communicating with the other operators to pass on knowledge of on-goings at that time.
