I currently practice as a Hospitalist providing care as an Internal Medicine Specialist. I also am Medical Staff President at Allen Hospital. I also serve as a senior administrator being Medical Director of Operations at Allen Hospital. I am responsible for the quality of care provided and serve as the leader of the practitioner force at the hospital. This includes physician and non-physician practitioners. In preparation for the administrative aspects of my career I attended and graduated from the Physician Academy sponsored by the Academy of Medical Physician Executives that was facilitated by Iowa Health Physicians.

I began practice and an internal medicine office in 1982 joining 4 other physicians. This was an independent practice. My practice was both ambulatory and inpatient. In approximately 1994 our practice was acquired by Allen Hospital and 5 years later by Iowa Health Physicians. In approximately 2011 I became a full-time hospitalist and Medical Director of the Hospitalist Service at Allen Hospital.
In 2014 I became Medical Director of Medical Services at Allen Hospital. I still practiced as a full-time hospitalist.
In 2016 and became Medical Director of Operations at Allen Hospital. I remain a practicing hospitalist.
