Additional Information

I began my fire career as a volunteer in1997 at Highway 34 Volunteer Fire Department. I worked my way up the ranks to Captain of the department. Since that time I have made the fire service my fulltime career. Along with the fire service I have worked in construction as a second job for many years. The two jobs combined have given me great knowledge of the inner workings of the fire service and construction field. My twenty-six years of experience in the fire service combined with my building construction degree and experience have given me much understanding of fire behavior in structures. I feel this understanding of the two give me an advantage on the fire scene to make quick and accurate decisions to help mitigate the incident in a safe and timely manner. Other scenes I have had the opportunity to work on or lead are, but not limited to, motor vehicle accidents with extrication, hazardous material incidents and Medical emergencies where CPR and other life saving techniques were applied.
