Job Summary

Plans, coordinates, and directs quality control program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops and analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards, and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product
• Meet or exceed company safety standards
• Formulates and maintains quality control objectives
• Coordinates objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs
• Directs workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
• Plans, promotes, and organizes training activities related to product, quality, and reliability
• Direct production to meet quality and quantity requirements and coordinate adjustments to the production schedule as needed
• Must comply with company safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds
• Investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality in order to maintain customer relations
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times
• Conducted regular audits to identify areas for process improvement and efficiency gains.

• Coordinate and supervise the training of staff on quality control procedures, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement within the organization.
• Obtaining and tracking requested fixed plant repairs by the production crew and coordinating with Maintenance Manager
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and address customer complaints, determining root causes and implementing solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
• Review and analyze production processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to enhance efficiency and product quality.
• Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Monitor cost and help maintain costs in the quarry/crushing operation
• Process and test aggregates from multiple sites and quarries as required per ASTM specifications.
• Process and test concrete samples to ensure approval of government agencies including but not limited to Caltrans and upload results onto Caltrans DIME website.

• Led a team of quality control personnel in conducting thorough inspections and audits of finished products to identify and resolve any deficiencies or non-conformities.
• Implemented effective training programs to increase awareness and understanding of quality control protocols, resulting in improved product quality and consistency.
• Inspected incoming material, ensuring all specifications and standards were met. Completed Certificate of Compliance reports, cataloged and organized daily Mill Certifications.
• Direct production to meet quality and quantity requirements and coordinate adjustments to the production schedule as needed
• Reviewed blueprints and shops to ensure engineering requirements were met.
• Acted as Plant Manager during their absence.

• Performed standard construction-related soil field and laboratory tests, such as air meter testing, slump cone, and cylinders, including military requirements of 6x12 cylinders and beams.
• Conducted field monitoring and compaction testing using sand cone and nuclear gauge methods.
• Prepared daily reports and plotting of test data for project engineers.
• Collaborated with clients and subcontractors to schedule and conduct site visits, providing technical guidance and support as needed.
