  • In March 2024, I was selected to attend the AABA Conference where I presented my research poster on the efficacy of temperature loggers in measuring Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT) which is a special form of fat that allows for the generation of heat in response to cold temperatures.
My research found preliminary support to suggest that iButton temperature loggers may be useful for the quantification of BAT thermogenesis; this is profound because BAT quantification can shed light on how the interaction of social, economic, and ecological contexts shapes the process of metabolic adaptation to cold stress.
