USCIS

Years of experience

After my three years of service in the United States Army, I went to college and achieved my bachelor's degree in criminology. With a strong urge to serve the public and find meaning with my degree. I pursued a job with USCIS as an Immigration Services Officer. With my excellent GPA, I entered duty on January 31, 2022, as a GS-7. During my time with USCIS, I have adjudicated employment based petitions of the I-129 form type. I am an expert in H-2A, H-2B, I-129R, and have been cross trained in the TPS workloads. From my experience gained, I was successfully promoted to the GS-9 pay grade on January 31, 2023.

During my time adjudicating forms for the last three years, I have made final determinations of adjudicative matters on the immigrations visas listed above. This includes determining applicant credibility, analyzing evidence, and applying statutory requirements, and regulations. I have successfully written the following adjudicative actions: RFE, ITD, NOID, ITR, and NOIR. I have written complex adjudicative decisions, as more research was needed to fit the needs of the scenario of my specific case. During my time adjudicating immigration benefits, I have learned how to conduct background checks, using evidence and databases provided to me. When appropriate, I have requested evidence for background information not supplied.

During my time at USCIS, I have been trained on how to handle inquiries from our customers. These include motions to reopen and reconsider cases.

During my time at USCIS I have been meeting expectations under my performance appraisal. Under my performance review, I have no negative marks. I take notes of my adjudicative process, and make sure that I am being productive, efficient, while having integrity.
