- As I was wanting to explore more of the health department and their different occupational opportunities, I volunteered to work in the lab at the Specialty Care STD Clinic.
- I learned how to collect and process specimens such as blood, urine, and different types of swabs.
- Being very social and interactive with all patients that I encountered was vital in making this a comfortable environment for them.
- Communication between co-workers and lead nurses, was fundamental in my day to day.
- Cleanliness and organization was a big part in making the lab become a steady and constant flow throughout the busy days we would have throughout the week.
