Figure model for Art classes, focusing on drawing the human body. As the figure model, I am responsible for maintaining and holding the poses that I am instructed to hold. All modeling at the University, is done in the nude and focus on the basics of the human form. While posing, I remain completely still for the duration of the pose to give the artists the most accurate angles and dimensions,. Poses consist of warm up gestural poses of 1, 2 and 5 minutes before being extended to longer poses of 10, 15, 20, 25 minutes. Some poses at the University at times are longer ranging from 30 minutes to 1 hour. The longer poses occur when the Art instructor wants the students to focus on the same pose and specific angles of the body to draw. Short poses are typically chosen by me as the model, unless I am specifically asked by students or the instructor to do a certain pose. Longer poses are set by the instructor, which I’ll be responsible for understanding the instructions given to me. I’ll then wait for the command to hold the pose for as long as instructor has informed me, that the longer pose will last.

Maintaining short and long poses for Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 Figure Drawing classes, as well as for Open Studios. Poses are in 20 minute increments, repeating multiple times and range in different types and varieties of different poses. Most times the longer poses are set by the instructor or moderator. While on stage Ill be ordered into multiple different positions and poses until one everyone is satisfied with the pose. Once the students and instructor are satisfied the pose will be set and I’ll wait for the command to get into the pose. Some long poses are extended to multiple days if the same pose is repeated, for the more advanced classes. These poses are also 20 minute poses, and that same exact pose is repeated for the duration of the classes. Short poses typically consist of 5 to 10 minutes in length, warm up poses are 1 minute gestural poses. The shorter poses are usually at my discretion and I am responsible for giving the students a wide range of unique and interesting poses. Posing and modeling involves many types of poses, from basic to more intricate, and difficult. All modeling has been strictly performed in the nude, primarily standing, sitting and occasionally lying down. All poses are on a timer that a moderator is in charge of during the poses and will inform me of when the time is complete.
