• Assigned to school as a security officer supervising minor inmates attending school classes.
• Provided security for the East meadow School District teachers and staff.

2015-2020 VISITING UNIT

• Monitored inmates and visitors for suspicious behavior.
• Checked in all visitors, lawyers, and professional agencies for daily scheduled visit documentation.
• Worked metal dector and x-ray machine to prevent contraband from entering the facility.
• Pat searched all inmates after completion of their visits and making arrests of inmates and visitors when necessary for contraband, assaults, weapons, and warrants.
• Patrolled the visiting floor to prevent passing of contraband and prevent inmate or visitor fighting.
• Assisted K-9 officers on the floor when they were alerted to the floor.

1999-2015 SECURITY UNIT

• Supervising 120 inmates in a housing unit. Enhanced facility safety by conducting through security checks and monitoring inmate activities.
• Supervising inmates while in the open dorm setting, reducing inmate altercations by maintaining consistent enforcement of rules and regulations, and responding to alarms when officers are in need of assistance.
• Preventing and cell searching for contraband.
• Documenting of incidents, medical issues, and daily activities of all inmate movement, and conducting inmate count.
• Responded to emergency situations and de-escalated hostile confrontations.
• Built solid relationships with staff and residents to keep institution safe and secure.
• Drove passenger vehicles and trucks to transport inmates to other institutions, courtrooms, hospitals, and work sites.

• Received award for extinguishing a basement dwelling fire in Jamaica Main Office Building occupied by staff.
