Sahalie Carnahan-Ramsey is a multi-media artist who primarily focuses on photography. Her most recent work involves analog film and darkroom processing, exploring the idea of imperfection and what defines perfection. She is attending California College of the Arts to pursue a bachelor's degree in photography. She recently received her high school diploma in Bend, OR, where she grew up. Her painting and makeup background have inspired her to pursue photography to capture these live paintings. Her work consists of paintings using humans as the canvas to convey powerful thoughts and messages. She has worked on multiple films and plays doing SFX makeup and continues to apply what she has learned to photography.
She is intrigued by finding new ways to present photography through digital editing, such as editing in a dark room. Her goal is constantly to challenge your perspective.
Sahalie has competed in scholastic for her high school years and received a national silver medal for her senior portfolio, "displayed thoughts." She has received 3 silver and 5 gold keys and an American Vision award nomination for Oregon. Her work for this was a multi-media piece of painting, makeup, and photography. Sahalie Carnahan-Ramsey was featured this December on the image flows photo of the month as an honorable mention.
