Hello,
My name is Sahr Mattia, I am a Kinesiology graduate from Sonoma State University with concentrations in Lifetime Physical Activity and Exercise Physiology. My goal is to become a Physical Therapist and I am currently in the process of doing so. I was a former collegiate soccer player at Sonoma State and during my time as a collegiate athlete, I learned a lot about taking care of my body and what is needed for the body to function properly.
As a Wellness Coordinator my role is to design and delivery of healthy lectures, organizing and implementing health fairs and clinics, coordinating fitness assessments, teaching exercise classes, providing fitness center floor supervision, personal training, and the overall management of the fitness of the residents in my facility. I work with license physical or occupational therapist to help residents age in place.
Before I transferred to Sonoma State University, I attended De Anza Community College for a couple of years. I was part of the De Anza college mens soccer team and in my time there I was awarded with an All-American Award. The All-American award is given to athletes who perform outstandingly during their collegiate season. During my time playing soccer at DeAnza College, I was fortunate enough to have had great couple seasons which led me to be recognized as an All-American athlete at the end of the season. In my sophomore year, I led our conference with the most goals and most game winners scored. Other honors I received in that season was, player of the year in our conference and team, forward of the year, and also earned all region and state honors. It was a very proud moment for myself personally because I was coming back from an ACL surgery and to receive that award made me proud that with hard work and dedication, I can achieve anything I put my mind to.
