As a Counseling Psychology student at the University of Denver, I am deeply committed to understanding and addressing the diverse mental health needs of individuals and communities. My academic journey is enriched by rigorous training that emphasizes critical thinking, multicultural competence, and ethical practice. I have gained hands-on experience through my internship placement at Vivus Counseling Services LLC, where I applied evidence-based techniques to support clients through their domestic violence, and substance abuse treatment. Passionate about promoting access and equity in mental health care, I aspire to contribute to practices that foster well-being and resilience among marginalized populations. My goal is to become a thoughtful practitioner who not only provides effective counseling, but also advocates for systemic change in mental health services. I am currently en route to obtaining my LPCC in May 2025, and have successfully completed all the required hours.
Completed 600 hours of internship and 150 hours of practicum. While in this role, I worked with undergraduate students at the Office of Academic Affairs to provide support and guidance to tackle a variety of academic, as well as mental health-related issues. Further, I helped students organize, interpret, as well as critically analyze research.I also served as an advocate for underrepresented populations within higher education institutions.
I volunteered in research focused on multiple areas such as relationships and multicultural counseling, with an emphasis on advocacy for BIPOC individuals. I contributed to various literature reviews and helped conduct interviews.
I administered several assessments and tests under supervision at the children's clinic, under the Psychiatry wing of the hospital. Further, I was responsible for intakes and history taking.
