I have improved my communication by working with kids. Working with kids grew my patience and helped me find a better way to explain things to the kids. Working with kids can be challenging since they tend to be more sensitive to situations, such as feeling left out of the group or not feeling good enough because they did not win a game. Working at this McCutcheon camp helped me improve my skills with the kids and communicate better with them. Working as a host has taught me to explain to clients why the restaurant might not be able to serve them at the moment without a reservation in a respectful way that they will understand. It has also taught me to communicate with the rest of the staff for better service for the customers.
