Work History

HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER

Kroger
02.2025 - Current
  • This is a newly-created role for Kroger’s Metro Market banner, the equivalent of a Human Resource Manager or Generalist elsewhere. I’m working out of a store location, handling everything H.R.-related for our associates in the building: recruiting, training and development, retention, employee relations, etc. My most recent performance score is 90, one of the highest for my role.

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER

Kroger
05.2024 - 02.2025
  • My role involves balancing two sets of duties: the generalist human resources functions in the building (hiring, retention and development, compliance, employee relations and terminations), and that of an assistant store manager, responsible for production and metrics in the store and the company promise to be full, fresh, and friendly. During my tenure, our store moved from a composite performance score in the 30s to 70+.
  • Human Resources, Management

BANKER

Huntington National Bank
06.2023 - 04.2024
  • My role was the equivalent of a Universal Banker at another bank. While I was responsible for providing exceptional customer service at the Opportunity Line (teller line) to everyone who walked in, my primary role was to ask customers open-ended questions to uncover needs. I then either sat down with them myself, referred them to a colleague for a more in-depth discussion, or scheduled them for an appointment.
  • I was one of the primary producers at my branch, and consistently one of the top 5 employees in my district for referrals. Since Huntington isn’t a household name (yet), I had a skill-building opportunity that bankers at more established institutions like Chase didn’t: I couldn’t rely on brand recognition or prior product knowledge, and had to uncover needs and provide solutions myself. I utilized Salesforce, Microsoft Teams and Outlook on a daily basis.
  • Sales, Financial Services

INSURANCE BROKER

Family First Life
03.2023 - 05.2023
  • As a licensed life insurance broker, I worked with people to determine their needs and what they were able to qualify for, then paired them with the best and most affordable policy that fit them. I contacted approximately 100 people per day. The entire process took place over the phone (telesales). I used Zoom, a CRM, and multiple company e-applications on a daily basis.
  • Sales, Financial Services

REMOTE RECRUITER

PeopleScout
10.2021 - 11.2022
  • Contractor on the Truist Bank team (Truist is the 6th-largest bank in the U.S.) I typically handled 30-45 requisitions at a time, though in times where I’ve covered colleagues, my workload stretched from 70-140 requisitions. The positions I hired for ranged from part-time Tellers to Cluster Branch Leaders managing 2 or more branches.
  • I hired 25-26 candidates monthly, performing at the same level as colleagues with an average of 7 years of experience in recruiting. Several of the candidates I hired were promoted during my tenure. I used Workday on a daily basis.
  • Human Resources, Recruiting

BARISTA

Starbucks
11.2019 - 09.2021
  • Worked at a busy drive thru location bringing in $20,000+ in sales per week. I often handled 2-3 roles in a shift, rotating between taking orders, taking payments and handing out orders at the window, making hot or iced drinks, and heating food. Once the height of the pandemic was over and employers were hiring again, I promptly applied and was re-hired at PeopleScout.
  • Customer Service

ENROLLMENT ADVISOR

Berlitz
09.2018 - 05.2019
  • As the Enrollment Advisor for the company’s Chicago office, I responded to all of the potential students who walked in, called in, or filled out web inquiries for the office. I essentially conducted phone screenings to determine what their needs were for the language they were interested in learning, and recommended Berlitz products based on their needs and budget.
  • Sales

TALENT ACQUISITION SPECIALIST

PeopleScout
02.2018 - 09.2018
  • Contractor on the Grainger team handling the pre-employment process (background check, drug test, orientation date). Acted as a liaison between the candidate and background check company, ensuring that the process is completed correctly by both parties, and reached out to the candidate when more information was needed. The target was 10 business days for the onboarding process, but I averaged 5.
  • Human Resources, Onboarding

01.2015 - 09.2017
  • Began by recruiting private students, then created and owned a service to teach English to students and professionals; expanded to Turkish and Arabic. Offered private, in-person tutoring at clients’ houses, as well as online lessons.
  • Business Development, Relationship Building

INSTRUCTOR

International Group for Training, King Abdul Aziz University
04.2015 - 08.2017
  • Instructor who taught diverse classes of university students, ranging in size from 20 to 40 per class in an academic quarter, with my work including class planning and test administration. Contributed in weekly meetings, updated team members and supervisor, solved ongoing problems related to teaching.
  • Promoted a positive learning environment by establishing clear expectations and maintaining consistent classroom management techniques.
  • Tracked student progress, frequently checking in with struggling students and identifying root causes of problems.

INSTRUCTOR

Uskudar University
09.2014 - 02.2015
  • Developed new testing materials and supplementary worksheets. Initiated review of university English exam questions to make them more comprehensive. Instructed seven classes per academic quarter, up to five a day, ranging from 25 to 40 students.
