My life and love of the auto industry began at 10 years old in 1985 when I accompanied my father to receive his North Carolina Used Automobile dealer license. Starting from the bottom, I detailed cars and started doing minor repairs. At the age of 14, I removed my first engine. Since then I have mechanically changed about every part there is to change in a vehicle. My mechanical skills developed working at our salvage yard. I have diagnosed, repaired, purchased, and sold, almost every single make, model, and model year vehicle, in the last 38 years.
Our family business expanded from a small used car lot/salvage and parts business to a multimillion dollar business growing to 5 retail stores. Due to economic conditions, my fathers health, and the pandemic we closed in 2020.
In an addition to my extensive vehicle knowledge, I have discovered that I have a talent for teaching and public speaking in the last decade of my life. It began with teaching Sunday School and ultimately becoming an ordained minister. It has been my honor to speak and preach at many churches and events, including officiating weddings and funerals. Teaching at SCC part time over last 5 years has been
the most enjoyable "work" that I have ever done.
I began my nuclear career in August 2024 by completing a workshop for MOV technician held by Teledyne Lecroy in Marion, MA. I completed nuclear safety school the following month. I absolutely love the industry. I have met some amazing people and found that many of my mechanical skills apply to this career. I believe in coming to work EVERY single day on time. I pride myself on being dependable.
