• Medal of Valor Nomination, 2024, I was nominated by Sergeant Drake due to putting my life at risk to stop a wrong way driver on I-73. While working overtime for Sergeant Drake a BOLO was issued at 7:15pm for a wrong way driver travelling north bound in the south bound lanes of I-73 driving a white Chevrolet Silverado towing a landscaping trailer. I took the initiative to have communications assign me to the call and began travelling south bound on I-73 looking for the wrong way driver. While travelling southbound I came into contact with the wrong way driver and intentionally hit him head on stopping his forward movement and disabling his vehicle to prevent him from hitting innocent civilians behind me.
• Medal of Valor Nomination, 2024, While answering a call for service regarding a potential domestic violence incident a fight ensued with the suspect and as a result a fellow officer was shot in the leg with a .556 round. Sergeant Batten and I fought and detained the suspect for me to render aid to the injured officer by applying a tourniquet which stopped heavy bleeding from the officer’s leg. Sergeant Batten nominated me for this award due to heroic actions and the rendering of life saving first aid performed during a high stress critical incident.
• Life Saving Award Nomination, 2024, While on duty I received a call for service for a two-year-old who was unconscious and not breathing due to drowning in a swimming pool. I arrived first on scene to the incident and was able to sweep the child’s airway to clear food debris allowing the child to cough up water and begin breathing. Due to my actions Sergeant Joseph nominated me for the life saving award.
• Entrepreneurship Award/ Best Startup Pitch, While in college I was awarded merit in entrepreneurship from the deans of Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University for my business plan to develop an app to aid the general public in streamlining automotive repair. We were allowed to create a one minute and thirty-second-long pitch on our startups and were graded in concept, value, and our ability to sell.
• Entrepreneurship Award/ Marble Project, While studying entrepreneurship as part of my nonprofit’s studies, we were given a marble and were told to trade it for items of increasing value. After the two-week deadline my partner and I were able to acquire $5,000 which we then donated to charity. I was then published by my professor in Southern Methodist University journal for entrepreneurship.
