As a truck driver, I have to do a pre-trip inspection of the truck and the trailer before I start driving out on the road. These are two important factors I have to complete in order to make sure I am safe while driving and that my truck doesn't have any problems while out on the road. While on the road, I have to go load at a sand mine, and then once I'm loaded, I have to make sure my top hatches are properly closed so I won't spill any sand out from the trailer. Then I get the paperwork from my load and put the information onto the tablet to have the correct weight and the ticket number. Once my load is secure, I start driving to the well site to offload the sand. After offloading the sand, I have to make sure my bottom hatches are properly closed, so when I go get another load, I don't spill any sand from the bottom hatch. This process is repetitive throughout the whole day until my 12-hour shift is completed.

At Silver Eagle Beverages, I started out as a helper. I would go with another driver and help to unload the beer product at the store. Then I would use my dolly to pick up the stack of beer and take it to the driver to help him organize the beer in the cooler. Every day, I would go with a different driver and help him unload the product and organize the beer on the shelves. I was a helper for about eight months, and then I became a swing driver. As a swing driver, I ran different routes and did the work by myself. After being a swing driver, I got my own route and was able to increase my pay to driver pay. It was a lot more challenging running my own route because I had to drop the beer into stacks and then put it away on the shelves. There were some occasions when I had to drop 300 cases of beer and put them away myself.
