Manages a team of employees to collaborate for safe quality care by

interacting with patients and their families, caregivers, physicians, community organizations and referral sources.

• Serves as intake resource for staff including responding to questions, obtaining needed orders, and/or facilitating problem solving.
• Promotes and facilitates understanding of the fiscal impact of third party and Medicare reimbursement.
• Maintains a positive and professional process and appropriate referral sources. This includes, but is not limited to, hospital discharge planners, organization’s social workers, physicians, staff, and the general public.
• Reviews and assess appropriateness of referral for home care.
• Coordinates IV and other durable medical supplies with referral source and/or pharmacy as needed.

Cared for special needs children in their classroom.

• Was a one to one nurse for a special needs student that required frequent suctioning, oxygen administration, and g tube feeds.
• Worked in many different health offices throughout out the district when student was absent from school due to illness.
• Wrote care plans and communicated with MDs regarding orders for school.
• Acted as resource person for school staff and teachers.

Worked many years in different home health agencies doing shift care and as a case manager

• Shift work caring for 3 children in one foster home, twins with trachs and vents, and another child with a central line and g tube in Arizona.
• Pediatric and maternal child home care nurse that traveled around Los Angeles and Ventura county and cared for patient in their home
• Home Health RN with primary focus on pediatrics and was on the hyper emesis team which included working with PICC lines and administering TPN.
• Updated the policy and procedure manual for all the pediatric policies

Worked in multiple Emergencies departments throughout Arizona and California.

• Worked full time in a level 1 trauma center for 5 years.
• Worked per diem and with staffing agencies for 7 years after that.
• Worked in a level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital. Cared for patients in many States of health from traumas, cardiac and routine ER situations.
• Worked in all areas of the ER including triage, trauma room, cardiac room and Main ER and charge nurse.
• Able to step into a new environment through agencies and full function as A RN w/ very little orientation

As a grant position developed a walk in immunization clinic as part of the pediatric clinic of a nonprofit clinic.

• Wrote policies and procedures.
• Developed the flow of clinic and integrated in to regular pediatric clinic
• Trained nurses on protocol and updated on CDC changes on immunization schedules
