Performed circulating nurse duties during cardiac procedures; LHC/RHC, PFO closure, Watchman, TAVR, carotid PTA, PPM, AICD, Impella, ECMO, IABP. Administer IV conscious sedation and cardiac medications, monitor and manage hemodynamics.

Some surgeries include coronary arteryrevascularization, valve repair and or replacement, thoracic aneurysms, heart transplants,implantation of ventricular assist devices, a variety of thoracic procedures, and totalartificial hearts. Some very critically ill patients stay with us for an extensive period,exposing us to intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP), continuous renal replacement therapy(CRRT), vents, ventricular assist devices (VADs), extracorporeal membrane oxygenation(ECMO), multiple chest tubes and IV drips, open chest care, etc.
