Intern
As an intern at northjersey.com and Gannett Media Company, I worked as a writer for The Bergen Record. My tasks included conducting interviews, attending story worthy events, and executing news, feature, and other writing pieces and articles for our online and print publication. This job required creative efforts to brainstorm unique ideas and story angles. I learned a variety of skills throughout this summer internship including communication, ethics, and collaboration. I specifically wrote various articles for the crime department and immersed myself in the process. I also consistently worked with the social media page and practiced tactics for open communication with the public. An important skill I gained during this experience was the ability to differentiate and manage large amounts of information given to me through sources and quotes. I used multiple online platforms including Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Google Docs, and more.
