● Assist group staff in developing positive behavior incentive plan(s) as needed.
● Assist counselors in dealing with significant and/or repeated discipline scenarios, when
appropriate, communicating with parents through the Community Support Team, and/or
Head Counselor. Encourage Group Leaders to use goal setting and debriefing methods
in their groups.
● Observe counselor teams and their interactions with each other. Check in with
individuals to make sure co-counselor relationships are strong. Provide support and
assistance when there is conflict.
● Hold section meetings throughout the summer, addressing section-wide
concerns and re-motivating my staff.
● Complete counselor evaluations as directed by Supervisor, and meet with staff members
as needed.
● Assist in Creative endeavors if/where appropriate (e.g. Friday Special Events).
● Constantly keep safety in mind, be aware, and proactive to prevent any danger.
● Communicate with campers and fellow staff in a positive, clear, kind, and patient manner.
● Demonstrate flexibility and a collaborative mindset.
● Look for groups that exemplify the spirit of Sewataro - kindness, teamwork,
sportsmanship, spirit, and respect throughout the week.
