You've probably heard the same things on every resume; I'm a hard worker, dependable, punctual, a team player, etc. but then discover for some, that was not true. But for me it is the truth. I'm not a new RN, I've had 18 years of experience and been around the block a couple times. I'm the kind of person that if I'm on time, I'm late. I was brought up to be a hard worker and not give up if a task seems overwhelming. I have always been a team player, for any company to run well we have to be. I'm a laid back person, patients have always found it easy to talk to me. I'm able to get along with difficult people and I have a lot of patience. I have heard wonderful things about your company and I would greatly appreciate the priviledge to be part of your team!
As the Nurse Educator for Armor at Franklin County Correctional, I initially have new hires the first week for clinical and computer training. I also hold annual skills competency classes for current employees. I develop education for staff based off CQI audit results when we find areas that need improvement and act as an available resource for staff.
Being the Educator is my main role but many days I'm pulled to work booking, giving medical clearance to new inmates, monitoring patients on med obs and keeping an eye on safety watches.
Some days I work as the Charge RN, drawing and processing labs, doing physicals, wound cares and assisting the medical provider. I assess, treat and provide education to patients requesting medical services.
Other days I'm put on med pass and perform detox assessments.
