As a new hospital starting up, I worked various departments due to changes in the system. I worked GI, Cath lab pre/post, and pre/post/pacu. It was also during a pandemic where, I worked in the covid fusion as well.

GI-Participates in preparation of the patient procedures as directed by the physician. Ability to participate in the care of all age groups from pediatric to Geriatric. Performs room set up and tear down to maintain a clean environment for patient care procedures. Reprocesses procedural instruments to ensure instruments are clean, disinfected and/or sterilized and safe for patient care. Provides safe, clean, tested and inspected items by performing the following decontamination functions: accurately operates instrument washers and disassembles and cleans with appropriate solutions and maintains all records relating to the monitoring and testing of the decontamination/disinfection process. Assists physicians with completing screening or diagnostic procedures. Monitors the patient- pre, during, and after. Inform the doctor of any changes. Educates the patient on pre-op and post procedure.
