- Conduct summer research under the guidance of public health leaders.
- Receive formal training in biostatistics and data science.
- Interact with experts in epidemiology, molecular biology, cancer, and clinical research.
- Work on real data sets with a primary focus on heart and lung diseases.
- Introduction to a wide range of public health research topics, including cancer, metabolic disorders, and genetics.
- Present research findings to the Keck community at the end of the program.

- Spatial statistics for geographical modeling
- Training in R, a widely used research software
- Immersion in data from significant public health research studies, such as the Southern California Children’s Health Study
- Completed research, compiled data, and assisted in timely reporting.
