The National Student Leadership Conference (NSLC) is a career-focused leadership conference. I worked as a medicine and healthcare teacher and team advisor for the medicine and healthcare program for junior high students, JNSLC, at American University. As part of my role, I was responsible for designing and delivering lessons to students, creating engaging activities, acting as a resident advisor, and chaperoning students on field trips.
As an Office Assistant at the UCLA branch of NSLC, I was responsible for managing all office-related tasks such as answering calls, responding to emails, and preparing materials for various events and activities for both the Game Design and Film Intensive programs.
At Starbucks, I learned skills in beverage preparation, customer interaction, cash handling, and teamwork. My positive customer engagement and team support made me a vital part of the team.
During my time at Lincoln-Way I directed three plays. I designed exciting rehearsal strategies to boost students' excitement and success in the plays. I took care of administrative duties like sending out schedules and scripts, promoting the plays on social media, and making promotional materials. I also helped actors understand how to act in different scenes, and I analyzed the scripts to shape our creative choices. I collaborated closely with the set, lighting, and sound teams, which played a key role in making the plays successful.
At Panera, I worked with my coworkers to improve efficiency and reduce wait times. My responsibilities included greeting customers, preparing food, and maintaining a strong understanding of our menu. I ensured well-stocked work areas and followed strict safety procedures to prevent foodborne issues.
I volunteer for HeadCount, a national non-profit that partners with musicians to promote US democracy. I connect with young concert-goers at events, encouraging political activism while remaining neutral. I register/confirm people's voter status and highlight upcoming voting dates. I have registered over 27 new voters during my time so far with Headcount.
