• Assist the curator and museum staff with installation of mannequins, clothing, and artwork for exhibitions.
• Construct user-friendly websites.
• Understand the extensive labeling process and organizational skills to operate KSUM’s online archive (Past Perfect).
• Understand how to maneuver and locate accessioned work within the on-site and off-site storage facilities.
• Undertake long-term projects such as updating KSUM’s online archive.
• Work quickly, but efficiently when there are short turnarounds for deadlines.
• Express the importance of inclusivity by constructing better relationships with resources that will assist accessibility for audience experience.
• Grade for art history courses in a timely manner (approximately 120 students).
• Courses include: Ancient to Medieval, Renaissance to Modern, Art as a World Phenomenon, Art and Theory since 1940, and African Arts.
• Manage students needs which may come in forms of group sessions, individual meetings, and proctoring.
• Maintain open communication with Kent State faculty and students regarding questions, concerns, or make-up exams.
• Manage a professional presence to represent Kent State’s Art School appropriately.
• Attend office hours for students.
• Manage around 35 students by creating an inclusive community while enforcing hall policies.
• Plan and budget monthly interactive programs under the community development curriculum.
• Mediate and provide conflict resolution in a professional and timely manner.
• Act as a liaison between residents and the Department of Housing to provide updates and to maintain high levels of student and resident retention.
• Oversee various administrative duties including maintenance requests, incident reports, and room transfers.
