Throughout my life here in Lubbock, I have always had a passion towards medicine especially towards rural areas such as Lubbock. This passion towards medicine and helping others pursued my interests towards attending Medical School and working in the medical field and serving rural areas in Texas. I am proud to have a father and mother who have owned a local business here in Lubbock for 22 years, “Nora's Mexican Food Restaurant”. The restaurant has built a stronger connection with my community of Lubbock meeting others, and helping them even away from the restaurant. Having a father who originally is from Mexico and immigrated here in the United States not finishing even elementary school and a mother who attended college but did not finish to pursue a family restaurant that they both own still today. My family and our restaurant have proudly made me who I am today. Currently, I am attending Texas Tech University with a major in Microbiology and minor in Chemistry with a concentration on the Pre-Medicine track in the hopes of attending Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for medical school.
