Work History

Coastal Crewboats

Deckhand
Intercoastal
03.2025 - 07.2025

● I had to throw rope and tie off the boat everytime we docked

● checked all the fluids in the engine room every morning

● sweeped and mopped the inside of the boat at the end of everyday, which would sometimes include me cleaning all the chairs and tables

● would rinse off the boat when I got the chance in the morning every now and then after some days

● did an oil change a couple of times, once with the Captain to learn how and once on my own while he watched me

● I learned many things about boats and watched out for any debris, crab traps, and little crab boats for the Captain so he didnt hit anything while driving the boat

● I continually practiced throwing rope while we docked off to try and get better at it

● Listened to everything the Captain told me to do in every situation while trying my best to learn everything he taught me in a short amount of time. It took me a while to get a grasp of everything I learned, but I managed to get used to it and understand it more over time.

● everyday the main part of the job was that we would pick up all the people who worked on the dredge for the dayshift drop them off on the dredge and pick up the ones on the nightshift and drop those back off on the landing. We would go back out and wait for the radio to call us and pick up someone from the dredge or the landing and bring them somewhere. While sometimes picking up packages and things to bring to the people at the dredge or the landing. It was a job that had 12 hour shifts in total being on the boat and the hitches usually lasted 28 days. I had three hitches in total.

● my hitches consisted of the 1st being 23 days, the second 24 days, and the 3rd being the shortest 8 days. In that time frame I managed to learn a lot of information on things I never knew of beforehand, but I still lack experience in other areas of working on boats.
