  • Managed government/stakeholder relations, regulatory compliance, environmental programs and community investment/outreach for Enerplus' US and Canadian Operations. Primary coverage area was the Bakken, DJ Basin and Marcellus resource plays in the US and Canadian assets in Alberta.
  • As a manager in the Corporate Sustainability Department my core responsibility focused on leading a highly skilled team who: mitigated regulatory risk, ensured regulatory compliance, engaged in stakeholder/government affairs outreach, implemented the corporate community investment budget and supported the company ESG initiative.
  • Maintained a professional, organized, and safe environment for my team to ensure they were able to carry out their internal and external responsibilities in an effective manner.
  • On behalf of Enerplus, I served as a Board Director on the North Dakota Petroleum Council for 12 years, and as a Member of the Colorado Oil & Gas Association's Advisory Board for 10 years.

  • Transitioned from Williams to WPX when the spin off of the new company was finalized. Role and responsibilities, including the team I managed, remained largely the same from what I was engaged with at Williams.

  • I was a direct report to the Executive Director of DNR and served as the primary policy liaison between the EDO and the State Land Board, Division of Minerals and Geology, Colorado Geological Survey and the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
  • Worked closely with the Colorado State Forester on statewide forestry policy issues, and with the Colorado Division of Wildlife on statewide energy related issues.
  • Served as Board Member on the Mined Land Reclamation Board, Energy Impact Assistance Committee (DOLA), Colorado State Conservation Board and was the Colorado Associate Representative to the Interstate Oil and Gas Conservation Commission.
  • Delivered official testimony before Congressional and State Legislative Committees, and was the DNR lead to several federal agencies (e.g., BLM, USFS).

  • Participated in developing and writing "white papers" on the relationship between natural resource policy development and the economic viability of communities, businesses and local governments.
  • Work included leading projects on rural telecommunications, forest health, public lands/wilderness, energy development, and federal implementation of laws (e.g., Endangered Species Act).
  • Served on the BLM Northwest Resource Advisory Council (1998-1999).
