My work in the movement to end violence has taught me that our liberation is bound together. We must work together as individuals, communities and institutions to end gendered violence, racism, oppression and harm.
· Set organization priorities and strategic plans and monitor, implement and ensure the execution of the Voices Against Violence.
· Maintain familiarity with resources outside of the organization that are available to improve services, provide sources of funding and to maintain community collaborations and relationships.
· Ensure that Voices is sufficiently present in the community and responsive through letters to the editor and press releases.
· Conduct fiscal planning, budget management and monitoring of program expenditures for annual grants and budget with various funding streams.
· Develop grant applications including grant writing, maintenance, coordination and oversight to ensure adequate financial support for the organization in conjunction with Fiscal Office
· Develop annual budget to ensure solvency
· Coordinate the annual town funding requests and submissions to each town’s annual report for Franklin and Grand Isle Counties.
· Collaborate with the Philanthropy and Communications Office to conduct fundraising activities, donor education and appreciation, and media exposure.
· Provide direct supervision and evaluation of VAV managerial staff.
· Oversee ongoing VAV organizational design and development. Maintain internal policies and procedures as needed.
· Ensure quality of direct service programs, including: 24-hour crisis hotline, domestic and sexual violence victim advocacy, community education and social change work, support groups, supervised visitation program, court education program
· Increase education and outreach throughout the community
· Ensure Voice’s representation and active participation in all collaborative community meetings, Task Forces and new initiative
· Plan for and attend community events representing Voices in Franklin and Grand Isle counties
· Maintain respectful working relationship with all county-wide agencies and organizations
· Monitor legislative, administrative and judicial activity in order to advocate on issues affecting survivors
· Maintain good working relationship and be a member in good standing of the Vermont Network Against Domestic and Sexual Violence.
· Engage in systems change work with law enforcement, prosecutors, courts, mental health agencies, etc.
M● Oversee and coordinate all advocacy services of the organization including services and functions of our shelter, Laurie's House and within the community.
● Maintain confidentiality in all survivor matters, direct interaction, written information, and discussion.
● Supervise and support the nine advocates on staff.
● Lead our strategic planning and equity work.
● Create an empowering and accountable culture for staff, community partners and those experiencing gendered violence.
● Coordinate and implement new projects and initiatives in conjunction with other staff that benefit survivors and/or the work to end gendered violence in Franklin & Grand Isle counties.
● Coordinate and implement collaborations and partnerships with community members/partners that benefit survivors and/or the work to end gendered violence in Franklin & Grand Isle counties.
● Coordinate volunteer program – outreach, recruitment, training, and supervision.
● Maintain consistency with our data entry and quality of data. Work with Director in carrying out administrative duties as needed.
● Interact and network/represent Voices Against Violence in an appropriate manner with other agencies, institutions and outside individuals to coordinate services for domestic and sexual violence survivors.
