Receives and efficiently processes incoming and outgoing emergency and non-emergency pre-hospital service requests in a timely manner. Utilizes system status management for appropriate dispatch and coordination of emergency medical resources for all Parkview Health pre-hospital air and ground units. Provides medical information using protocol driven instruction. Possesses understanding of emergency dispatching programs, policies and procedures that prescribe how emergency and non-emergency patient care needs for ground and air transportation is assessed, evaluated and met. Coordinates information and resources with other public safety agencies.
Coordinates transport of emergent, urgent and elective patients from all potential referral sources. Determines and documents the nature, location of requests and level of priority and then dispatches the appropriate transportation resource. Notify the appropriate helicopter or ambulance of a request and relay all pertinent transport information. Receive and process information on a continual basis with numerous helicopters and ground ambulances already on transports. Perform a full range of telephone, computer and radio operational duties.
Coordinates transport of emergent, urgent and elective patients from all potential referral sources. Facilitates patient to final destination via ground ambulance or helicopter.
