• I work on caseload management to include making recommendations regarding caseload, conducting investigations, preparing comprehensive reports, maintaining appropriate documentation, conducting follow-up actions.
• I monitor offenders and to make sure they follow all the terms of there supervision of conditions that the court and Parole Board has given them.

I was a member of the unit staff, I sort out inmate disputes and investigates complaints of abuses by correction officers or other inmates investigates incidents of disruptive activity including but not limited to theft, extortion. Develops, and monitors commissary, quartermaster food service, cashiers office; responsive to the concerns of staff and needs of inmates.

Responds to emergencies and security alerts; conducts routine sanitation & security inspections within the unit or assigned work area to ensure compliance with safety regulations, possible contraband and general security; performs related security functions as required such as shakedown, pat-downs, special incident reports, RIB hearings.

• Works rotating posts and assignments to maintain discipline and order of inmates in the internal and external security of the institution. Monitors computerized surveillance from assigned post to ensure security of consumers who are criminally insane & responds to emergencies. I also am a Crisis Intervention Team member and a Crisis Response Member, which is a certain person who is trained specially in deescalating situation. If an offender or staff member is in Crisis they call on a Crisis Team member. Completes written security documents or other unit management reports and files, conduct and special incident reports. I am also a member of the Employee Activity Committee which is a person who works with other staff to bring certain functions to their DRC employees. I am a On Job Training Coach and an Institutional Instructor. Stores equipment & supplies in safe & secure area as prescribed; writes supply & repair orders for assigned area.

Prepares information as needed for parole board hearings, screens offenders for purposes of release decisions and supervision classifications. Communicate and directs assigned caseload activities of offenders to include employment opportunities, referrals to community service agencies. Issues arrest, hold and release orders to law enforcement agencies. Does surveillance and pursues violators-at-large arrests violators and restrains offenders as needed. Search and find for contraband; photographs offenders, crime victims and evidence; performs alcohol and drug testing by observing, collecting testing urine samples. Drives state or personal vehicle to transport violators or witnesses within or out of state; prepares court documents for filing.

Provides work direction and training to other parole officers and clerical staff as necessary. Operates personal computer in order to input and verify information about offenders. Maintains offender files and investigation reports; enforces court orders pertaining to child support and crime victim restitution, court costs, fines, fees, and other financial sanctions of offenders.

• Plans, delivers rehabilitative program services for assigned unit in correctional coordinates activities with other treatment units. Prepares security classification instruments and recommends changes in social programs. Interviews inmates for inclusion in programs. Collects personal information. Provides rehabilitative program counseling for individuals and groups. Talks to new inmates who enter the facility program; intervenes in crisis situations; refers inmates to other treatment units. Interviews inmates for jobs within institution.
