Responsibilities:

Performs accurate physical, mental, emotional and spiritual assessment skills, demonstrate knowledge and support of psychotherapeutic based treatment and collaborative problem solving and utilize this knowledge in patient care and the unit milieu.

Nursing Preceptor - Trains new nurses to the unit and facility policies,

procedures, and in developing unit specific training. Uses verbal de-escalation techniques, positive management skills as tools for maintaining safety. Responsible for chart documentation and reviews of charts, meets daily with a Treatment Team consisting of The Physician, Therapist, RN, Rec Therapy Director, Utilization Review as well as the patient to form a plan of care and provide a positive and supportive and stable environment to aid in recovery. The child program offers treatment for acute, symptoms of psychiatric illness. Children/Adolescents who are overwhelmed due to depression, anxiety, family conflicts, reactions to stress, trauma, and substance use. Our focus is for the patient to work towards recovery while being less disruptive to daily life. Initiate and teach communication, illness and medication education, anger management and coping skills with the main focus being positive reinforcement and rewarding positive behaviors in a safe environment.
