Deputy Sheriff
Clatsop County Sheriff's Office
Warrenton, OR
08.2016 - Current
While employed at Clatsop County Sheriff's Office(CCSO), I was assigned to Enforcement Division responsible for completing over 500 criminal investigations of Oregon Revised Statutes. Through proactive enforcement efforts, ensured compliance of Oregon motor vehicle codes by patrolling all county roads/ state highways resulting in over 1000 traffic stops.
I was assigned to two (2) special assignment positions to include the Resident Deputy position for the community of Jewell/ Elsie (Oregon) and I was also assigned to Forest Patrol responsible for enforcement of all state statutes and Oregon Administrative Rules for enforcement of forest resources. My position as Forest Deputy required constant and frequent cooperation with outside state/county agencies to include Oregon Department of Forestry and County Code Enforcement.
In conjunction with the above primary responsibilities, I was assigned collateral duties to include the Search & Rescue Coordinator, Less Lethal munitions instructor, patrol rifle armorer, and assisted in the hiring selection process for prospective new Corrections/ Enforcement Deputies.
Utilizing my law enforcement discretion while respecting all residents constitutional rights, I worked hard to earn community respect and to build personal rapport with all residents. To date, I have never been formally reprimanded by CCSO management for policy violations or unethical conduct. Using professional tact and excellent communication strategy, I rarely needed to use force effecting an arrest and have never injured or caused serious bodily injury to any custody.
Prior to full time employment with CCSO, I volunteered as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff from 2014 to 2016 ensuring a seamless transition from military service to public safety service.
