I was raised in a church of Christ home by a father that worked most of my life as a Minister. My father and mother raised me with a firm grasp of the Word as well as a strong spiritual ethic; which continues diligently today. I was blessed 32 years ago to find a woman that shared my Love for Christ; as a partnership, we have spent most of our lives together working in churches and raising our children with the same Christian ethics we were both raised with. I realized long ago that God had raised me for a life of ministry; it is not what I do, it is who I am. Though my time in the pulpit has been a blessing; my truest desire has always been to serve God through young people; I have seen a beauty that exist in their hearts as they move from the safety of their parents into the independence of adulthood. Yet, as they grasp eagerly for that independence, there is this opportunity for them to find a new relationship with God on their path to self-discovery. Their faith and beliefs are no longer solely those handed down to them; but rather, they are now revealed through the Spirit through the building up of their hearts as they find their own path to Him. This is such a beautiful time in their life; I want to be part of that journey! Every step I have taken in my life has helped me to stay relevant in the lives of young people so that I may better help to lead them closer to the Father. I believe with proper guidance and biblical instruction, it is possible to not just teach young people about God, but more importantly, help to draw them closer to Him with a desire for relationship. The Lord has always guided my steps, and it is with eagerness that I apply for this position, fully hoping that together we can encourage the young church of today as they seek out a life with Jesus Christ.
