Worked 9 months as conveyor belt installation crew member (followed by 5 years of sales and installation position), resolving expensive failed equipment shutdowns, belt replacements, splicing (mechanical fasteners and vulcanization) of belts, and fabrication and maintenance in our shop to modify equipment, maintain vehicles, generators, forklifts, etc.

After 9 months, was offered a sales position in virgin territory, which proved profitable all 5 years and included acquiring the MeadWestvaco account and largest belt sale for the company at the time.

As sales representative, diagnosing problems with conveyors, calculating applications of belts for tension, cover performance, impact resistance, materials conveyed (heat, chemical, abrasion, etc.), as well as application of accessories to guide belts, clean, mitigate spillage, and occasionally installation of items sold.
