- Master’s Thesis- IFN — increases expression of SARS-CoV-2 receptors on Cardiomyocytes
- Investigated the suitability of murine cardiomyocyte cells (HL-1 cell line) to study of SARS-CoV-2 infection
- Selected cytokines like Interferon Gamma, TGF Beta-1, IL-4 and IL-10 were utilized for identifying the ACE-2, NRP-1 and TMPRSS-2 receptor expressions on HL-1 cells, through Immunofluorescence and Cytation-5 methods
- Fluorescence intensity was used as a metric to determine the usability of the cell line
- Through a series of experiments conducted on the cell line, fluorescence levels of the receptors were observed to be inconsistent for different cytokines, concluding that the HL-1 cell line is not suitable for SARS-CoV-2 infection analysis.
