• Performs frozen sectioning and staining as well as accessioning of specimens from ORs and clinicsGrossing of small biopsy specimens
• Gross tech trainer: consists of performing grossing competencies, being the main point of contact for secondary gross training/guidance as well as working with leads and management to troubleshoot and develop better training strategies and process improvements
• Former interim lead technician: consisted of creating weekly employee task schedules, running routine metrics reports, quality/maintenance checks, management of PTO requests and ensuring proper staff coverage
• Assists in re-writing and keeping SOPs up to date
• New employee ambassador: responsible for advocating for new employees, making them feel welcome and supported while also fostering a positive work environment.
• CE committee member: responsible for creating/providing CE opportunities for certification renewal
• CAP preparation team member: consists of performing self assessments, identifying areas of concern, and delegating tasks to remain CAP compliant

Projects:

• Helped pilot a new site-wide launch of the dictation software, Dragon Medical One which includes training, troubleshooting, and creating official, programmed grossing templates for all small biopsies
• Streamlining specimen accessioning within Epic by eliminating outdated protocols and replacing them with clear and concise protocols

• IHC testing and antibody preparation/ titration
• Ensuring technical quality for adequate evaluation of prepared slides
• Maintain appropriate quality assurance documentation
• Perform automated and manual special stains
• Validation of new antibodies, reagents, and staining programs
• Preparation of slides for molecular testing

· Embedding, microtomy and staining (automated/manual) of routine histology and DIF specimens

· Cytology processing and testing of CSF, FNA, NGYN, and semen

· Validation of new/relocated equipment and setting up new workspaces

· Preparation for CAP accreditation for new laboratory and completing CAP surveys

· Processing ThinPrep and Surpath GYN specimens, as well as CSF, FNA, NGYN, and semen cytology specimens
