Although the department has seen an increase of almost twenty percent in specimen volume, by prioritizing the specimens and running more batches throughout the day and on the weekend turn around time was meet more effectively.

Responsibilities included accessioning, preparing and running all cytology specimens. Body fluids, gynecological paps, cerebral spinal fluid, fine needle aspiration and all tissue too small to gross.

Daily duties included automated, manual staining and making cell blocks.

Assisted pathologist during procedures with core samples, FNA's and Diff Quick staining.

Other responsibilities included tissue identification, tissue orientation,embedding and cutting to acquire the necessary hours for HT certification.

Fostered strong relationships with other healthcare professionals by providing clear explanations of complex concepts related to cytology testing procedures when necessary.

Streamlined data entry processes by updating patient records accurately, minimizing errors in reporting between departments.
