The Anatomical Pathology Manager is responsible for supervising and assisting in the daily operation of the Anatomical Pathology Laboratory including Gross lab, Histology lab, Non-GYN Cytology lab and Anatomical Pathology send out sections of the laboratory. The manager performs administrative duties and manages all pathology and send-out functions in accordance with established policies and standards appropriate with licensing and accreditation agencies. This position will play a lead role in the strategic and financial planning process ensuring fiscal responsibility. Implement initiatives focused on enhanced performance, workflow redesign, and developing a culture that emphasizes excellence in the quality and delivery of laboratory services. Facilitated departmental participation in quality initiatives, contributing to both departmental and hospital-wide quality improvement efforts. The manager participates in inter and intra departmental quality teams such as COC Cancer Committee and Ancillary Service Quality Committee. Developed and monitored compliance policies and standards as laboratory compliance officer, ensuring alignment with hospital compliance program. He/She supervises personnel, reviews pathology services ensuring that our standards are met, ensures competency, maintains and updates all procedures in all departments, and reviews quality control as part of the quality assurance program to meet satisfactory levels as requested by H.R.S., the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, College of American Pathologists according to regulatory agencies. Functioned as a Clinical Laboratory Histology Technologist in the department.
