- Was invited with 4 other filmmakers out of a pool of 500 applicants to participate in the inaugural NAACP National Convention Cinematic Shorts Competition hosted by Coca-Cola.
- Paired with a partner, we conceptualized a story centered around social activism and empowerment in the black community in less than 5 hours.
- In accordance to the competition's rules, we mapped out the structure of the storyline, planned out the execution of production, shot and edited the film in under 5 days.
- Took in mentorship by two time Emmy Award nominated producer-director Attica J. Torrence who guided my co-director and I to be more intentional with our work and message.
- Completed editing by cutting and arranging footage to create final versions of films using Adobe Premier Pro in less than 2 full nights.
- Final Film titled #ThroughOurLens was the competition's winner and with that accolade came an all-expense paid trip to LA to attend the 2023 NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena.
- Walked the Image Award's red carpet and shared the film's synopsis with some interviewers present including Buzzfeed and Essence publication.
- Submitted film into film festival circuit for which it selected by the Justice Film Festival March 3-4, 2023 where I was chosen to be a presenting filmmaker for a Q& A session.
