  • Converted an older reporting system to an extensive online user interface for viewing case exceptions. This process was based on an older system which ran in batch to produce exception reports for users. I developed and interactive version of this process utilizing sql embedded RPG for selection which created an exception report which was presented to the user via a subfile screen. I documemted and maintained this system for the client, and was involved in updating the system with new exceptions as per request.
  • Worked with other business analysts to develop specifications for large and small IT projects based on meetings with end users. Successfully translated users needs into technical spec documents.
  • Worked with cross-functional design teams to create software solutions that improved overall functionality and performance.
  • Wrote and maintained RPG/RPG LE, RPG free and SQL embedded RPG programs and CL code as a contractor for a midsize legal/collections firm

• Developed an emergency response process to enable University wide alerts in cases of emergency. Was involved in this project from the planning and specs through implementation and then regular maintenance. The project involved extensive meetings with user groups on various campuses for each campus’s particular requirements, and built in logic for each campus into the process. I was responsible for creating the general specs for this process, coding the procedures and functions in PL/SQL, creating test plan with real test case scenarios, parallel testing and implementation. I was also responsible for creating extensive technical and non technical documentation for the process. After implementation, I was responsible for maintenance which involved tweaking the logic and documentation as per request by various user groups.
• Worked as technical business analyst to convert user needs into functional/technical specifications for projects
• Wrote and maintained RPG/RPG LE programs and CL modules on iseries/AS400 for college registration and admissions modules and requested special projects
• Participated in a major conversion effort from legacy iSeries/AS400 to Oracle. Wrote conversion programs in RPGLE to create conversion tables for import to Oracle
