Rank: Cadet Corporal. This rank comes with great responsibility, I was promoted to this rank due ot my hard work diligence, academic success, and athletic prowess. I am in charge of grooming, mentoring and guiding my team.
Community Service: One major capstone service learning project I can proudly say I was part of was the High School Heroes. My and my teammates taught financial literacy to young scholars of Chancellor Avenue Elementary School. I was the captain of my group of 3 cadets. We taught 2nd graders, not only that but we were one of the Spanish groups. This means that the class we had to teach were ESL and majorly Spanish speaking students. Being able to participate in this project not only helped me learn important values like leadership and put my bilingual skills in use, but it also impacted the life's of those young scholars. They were actively engaged, my team and I were able to buy small fidget toys to serve as rewards for the scholars. Till this day, when I see one of the students in the community they run up and give me a hug. This is how I know my team and I left an impact and taught them something that day.
