Teaching Assistant

University Of Illinois College Of Medicine
01.2024 - Current
  • Headed team of three TAs in managing Flow Cytometry course which included teaching operation of FACSymphony A1 analyzer to 18 students.
  • Helped students transplant immune-compromised C57BL/6 Rag -/- mice by adoptive transfer of lymphocytes from C57BL/6 FK immunocompetent mice.
  • Offered constructive feedback on student's weekly laboratory reports , helping them refine their writing skills and data representation.

Instrument Specialist

University Of Illinois College Of Medicine
08.2023 - Current
  • In charge of the core flow cytometry facility at University of Illinois, College of Medicine at Rockford.
  • Maintenance and operation of two flow cytometry machines; BD FACSymphony A1 analyzer and BD FACS Melody i.e. cell sorter.
  • Provided technical support and guidance to fellow research scientists for operation of Flow Cytometry machines.

Laboratory Assistant

University Of Illinois College Of Medicine
10.2022 - 07.2023
  • To maintain teaching laboratory for experiments and assist TAs with laboratory requirements.

Laboratory Assistant

Plazma Institute
06.2021 - 05.2022
  • To maintain the high-school education laboratory for biological experiments and teach basic experimental skills to students.

Research Associate Internship

BioLim's Science and technology hub
05.2021 - 06.2021
  • To understand day-to-day responsibilities and complete daily tasks of a Research Associate.

Trainee

Biological and Life Sciences, Ahmedabad University
12.2018 - 02.2019
  • Learned to operate Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDS) (Model: JEOL JSM6010LA).
  • This led to my selection as instructor of Electron microscopy workshop in tech-fest called CHIASMA in 2019 and workshop in charge and trainer of instructors in the same workshop in CHIASMA 2020.

Research Experience

Master's Thesis Project: Investigating the Anti-cancer Effects and Underlying Cellular Mechanisms of Synergistic Drug Combination NCX 4040 and Napabucasin on Human and Murine Prostate Cancer. (Aug 2023- June 2024)

Successfully conducted in vitro research on two human PCa cell lines; BPH-cd, DU145, and one murine PCa cell line Myc-Cap followed by in vivo research on FVB/NJ immunocompetent mice to establish the combination therapy of two drugs NCX 4040 and Napabucasin. The project has significant implications for the development of a novel chemo-immunotherapeutic strategy of combination drug treatment for advanced prostate cancer.

Academic research project of Flow cytometry: (Jan- Apr 2022)

Performed the adoptive transfer of splenocytes from immunocompetent BALB/c FoxP3 mice to immunocompromised C57BL/6 Rag-/- mice and analyzed the reconstitution of T cells and B cells by weekly flow cytometry analysis.

Undergraduate Research Project: Impact of phthalate microplastics (DEP, DBP, and DEHP) on early zebrafish development. (Jan- Apr 2020)

Successfully conducted toxicity screening of different microplastics; Diethyl phthalate (DEP), Dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and Diethyl-hexyl phthalate (DEHP) on zebrafish (Danio rerio) embryos by observing the malformation at early development stages. This project contributed to understanding the environmental toxicity caused by microplastics.
