The licensed therapist is responsible for providing direct clinical services, including individual, family, and group psychotherapy, treatment planning, and discharge planning to patients to further the patients' progress in treatment, according to Progressive PHP’s mission, goals, and philosophy of care.

• Developed treatment plans tailored to each client's unique circumstances and goals.
• Facilitated group therapy sessions to promote peer support and shared experiences.

• Conducts interviews and assessments for clients in incarceration or community settings for pre-trial or hospital admission purposes.
• Provides competency restoration services to pre-trial clients in a jail-based setting and/or within the community.
• Attend court hearings with clients or patients, provide the courts with status reports on clients, and may be required to testify when needed.
• Interacts continuously with the judicial system (judges, lawyers, etc.). By reporting client/patient progress and incidents throughout the Conditional Release and Supervised Probation Program.
• Conducts visits to clients' homes in hazardous environments, and to community-based group homes.
• Writes and interprets reports such as court orders, status reviews, episode reports, etc.
• Recommends clients/patients for orders of protective custody through law enforcement, a coroner's emergency certificate through the coroner's office, or a physician's emergency certificate through the mental health provider, hospital emergency room, forensic consultant, etc. or for placement at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System.
• Clinically evaluates clients and patients on an ongoing basis for signs of mental illness, substance abuse, dangerous behaviors, etc.
• Provides consultation and assistance regarding services for clients.
• Develops plans for providing professional mental health services, medical services, housing, etc.
• Confers and coordinates services with social, health, community, and correctional/criminal justice agencies throughout the region.
• Travels throughout the assigned region frequently, and statewide occasionally, to perform job duties.

• Provides advanced-level support services for social service programs.
• Supervises a small staff of professional employees. Planning, coordinating, and controlling statewide program elements in a program area.
• Developing and implementing policies, monitoring procedures for the program element, and conducting studies and special projects.
• Revising rules, regulations, and procedures to comply with changes in law or policy. Identifies needs for resources and training related to community-based services, and determines how those needs can be met; develops proposals for meeting the needs.
• Writes and submits grant proposals. Meets with government officials, private officials, professionals, and others on matters regarding the program element. Trains agency personnel regarding procedures and policies. Maintains records, prepares reports, and conducts correspondence relative to the program element assigned.
• May direct the work of staff, including professional or clerical employees, serving as a lead worker or direct supervisor.
