- Walk the dock and storage spaces to see where WIP (work in process) items are staged in the facility, and the availability of open areas.
- Identify the inbound/outbound work required for the shift/day.
- Notify the supervisor of the observed delay of associates commencing start-of-shift activity (as assigned).
- Coordinate with the supervisor to ensure proper work prioritization, as required to meet scheduled service requirements.
- Coordinate the flow of supervisor-assigned work roles. Ensure the supervisor is kept aware of any plant and/or operating conditions affecting the flow of work.
- Highlight load-related notes, and communicate to appropriate job functions all load specifics needed to ensure compliance with customer standards.
- Support the internal processes that contribute to inventory accuracy, food safety standards, and quality to minimize disruption to workflow.
- Review inbound/outbound paperwork to ensure proper recording of temperatures, document completion, and ESI reporting.
- Serve as a backup for Dock Clerk activities as required to support the needs of the business. This will require cross-training in Dock Office activities.
- Attend and participate in meetings as assigned.
