  • I was employed full time before switching to per diem in 1997. I worked as a staff nurse caring for antepartum, postpartum, and infants (both healthy newborns and neonatal ICU). My duties included performing initial assessments post-delivery, caring for antepartum patients admitted to our unit, newborn assessment after delivery and while in the newborn nursery. I am trained to test infant hearing as required by the state. I drew blood work ordered by the obstetricians and pediatricians. I also helped with patient education such as mothers’ new concerns with caring for their infants, bathing infants, breast-feeding and bottle-feeding. In addition, when needed, I teach the patient education classes.
